Palmerston North born and bred, I started hunting with a .177 air rifle at 10 years old. I then transitioned to .22 and then center fire rifles at 16 years of age. Upon leaving high school I started a building apprenticeship and spent the next 30 years in the construction industry. Over those years I was continuously hunting and exploring the New Zealand outdoors and had a particular interest in long range shooting. I shot my first match in 2017 and was hooked! I started off shooting 2 matches per year to now shooting 15-20 per year. I have been working at Hardy Rifle for the past 5 years in sales and product testing and evaluation.

As a very keen hunter from a young age, I didn’t actually realise competitive shooting existed until 2020 after speaking with Ian Hughes on the phone about a new rifle. My first match was Hautapu in early 2021 and haven’t looked back! Im very competitive in all I do so naturally took the shooting very seriously – my drive is to always try and be better than I was in the last match, there is always something to refine and improve. I shoot with Team Hardy because they are a great bunch of people and good friends have been made along the way. My attitude of always striving to be better fits well with what we all strive to achieve.

As an active rabbit shooter since I was 7yrs old I managed to buy my first rifle - a semi automatic 22 Ruger at the age of 10. I'd always enjoyed hunting and this later led me to my first business shooting rabbits - unfortunately the Kalisi Virus destroyed this venture pretty quickly! I also have a great history with clay bird shooting, representing St Andrews in the top squad for four years running.
About 7 years ago I found out about long range shooting and it's been amazing, Ive met fantastic people along the way. It's a sport that keeps pushing you, you make mistakes along the way but you're constantly learning. I love every moment tinkering in my garage doing up load developments and out shooting whenever I get an opportunity. I enjoy helping new people get into the sport and will be trying to do more 22 shoots in and around Queenstown to help grow the sport.
I've been lucky to be invited to shoot in team Hardy. They've been super supportive and have made all my long range rifles over the last 6 years. I am currently using a 6 Creedmoor but will be switching over to my new 6 GT for future comps. I'm hoping to make it to a couple of shoots in Australia and then head back over to America at the end of next year all going to plan.

I grew up in rural South Australia with plenty of exposure to shooting at a young age, mainly hunting and spotlighting. During 2020 my friend Joel encouraged me to visit the local gun club and introduced me to long range shooting, I attended a few precision rifle club matches and was hooked immediately due to my competitive nature and my strive for continual improvement. I had a rifle built by APRS in Adelaide and shot the South Australia PRS season in 2021 which included meeting lots of new people and establishing some great friendships. I then got serious about competitive shooting in 2022 when I had the privilege of traveling the country to shoot national Precision Rifle Series matches. It was a consistent and successful year in 2022 thanks to the support of my family, friends and fellow shooters. As of 2023, I had the opportunity to shoot with Team Hardy which I appreciatively accepted due to their fantastic reputation, customer service and support shown within the shooting community.
